Is family still relevant in the modern era?

Comparing with the families of one to two centuries ago & the importance they held in the society, I agree,that families of today's generation doesn't possess so. That importance have faded away somewhere in the middle of advancement(in technologies, culture,norms,priorities),which force us to believe that family have lost its relevance in the modern era. But, inspite of all this rapid change in the concept, family has its own very important place in the lives of every individual & so on the society still & I personally believe that it will never ever fade away.
Family always remains our foundation, where ever we have reached or will tomorrow. It always played a vital role to build our personalities, polishing our character,&developing our mind-set,values & morals.It strongly influence our choices we make & decisions we take & greatly affect on even profession we choose.A place where we are always welcomed with open heart, with all our flaws,faults & blemishes. Provides eternal satisfaction,that someone is waiting for us, that after all ups & downs there is someone to go back,that someone is there to love,care& protect unconditionally & diligently,that whether we loose or won, it will not judge us. Satisfies us with the feeling of belonging & financial security & provide eternal bliss as there is someone to share victory & happiness with. Family helps to meet the basic needs of those who can't provide for themselves( minor, very elderly, handicapped). Even research says that parents have more incentive to live a healthy life if they have children.
Family consists different rules for its members(which differ from family to family) which in reality remains mild & gentle in comparison with the laws outside. The example can be, stealing money from mommy's purse or papa's pocket can end up getting scolding or may be some minor punishments, but if the same stealing is done outside in shops or buses, it may cost a very high price i.e police complain as well as good thrashing.
Though certain life-style like hostel-life, staying away for job etc sublime the need & importance of family in the life of individual yet it is the thing which completes us.
